Many times we feel as if the issues we struggle with are ones that we should be able to figure out on our own. Other times we fall victim to the stigma that still lingers around the topic of asking for help. These fallacies tend to lead to feelings of hopelessness or a lack of self-efficacy. I want you to know that you CAN resolve those issues once you learn the skills needed to do so. You do not have to hide behind a false smile, you do not have to pretend to be someone you're not, and you do not have to be ashamed because asking for help is an act of bravery as well as self-preservation. If you are struggling, KNOW that there ARE solutions. You just haven't had anyone to teach you about them yet ... and that's where I come in.
My metaphor for relationships is that they need to be tended to as a garden. Each individual has their own row to hoe, weed and water. When one person stops tending to the garden, their weeds begin to invade the other persons rows, growth begins to wither on the unattended side and the other person almost always tries to pitch in to rescue the garden on their own. This does not work and often breeds resentments. Relationships need both individuals putting in equal amounts of energy to grow a healthy connection that feed's and nurture's the soul, the heart, the body and the mind. Communication skills are key as well as compatibility. I can help you learn how to communicate what you need in skillful ways.
The worst kind of mood and personality disorders are the kind that you are not able to explain. I am well versed in a wide variety of diagnoses and evidence based treatment. As follows, you can see the types of disorders I have successfully worked with and either reduced or eliminated the symptoms to the extent that my clients have become able to manage them without me.ADHD, Addiction, Adoption, Alcohol/Substance Abuse, Anger Management, Anxiety, Autism, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Career Counseling, Adolescent/Teen Behavior, Chronic Illness, Chronic Impulsivity, Codependency, Coping Skills, Depression, Divorce/Mediation, Dissociative Disorders, Domestic Abuse, Domestic Violence, Dual Diagnosis, Elderly Persons Disorders, Emotional Disturbance, Family Conflict, Grief, Life Stage Transitions, Marital and Premarital, Medication Management, Mood Disorders, Naturopathy, Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD), Parenting, Peer Relationships, Personality Disorders, Psychosis, Relationship Issues, Self Esteem, Self-Harming, Schizophrenia, Sexual Abuse, Sleep or Insomnia, Spirituality, Stress, Suicidal Ideation, and Traumatic Brain Injury.
Trauma comes in so many different sizes and shapes it seems hard to nail it down as to what it actually is. What feels traumatic to one person may seem to be something another person could easily shake off and walk away from. One thing is for certain, if you feel you've been traumatized, you probably have been and the healing process is not one that you have to go through alone. Often times people feel that there is no one out there that could possibly understand what they've been through as their story is so horrific that it couldn't even be made up by the most experienced writers. I personally know of some cases where this is absolutely true. The one most important thing I want you to know is that whether your trauma is fresh, has been lying dormant and is now rearing its ugly head, or if it has returned in a brand new form, you are not alone. I am here to help you get to the other side of it. I am your guide, I can help you with Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Positive Psychology or simply providing you the safe place to process your life events through stream of consciousness. Trauma does not get to hold you hostage any more from having a life you can thrive in.
